For in-house legal counsel and compliance professionals who require an introductory session or would benefit from a refresher on EU Customs law and/or Export Controls and Trade Sanctions.

Introduction to Customs Law

8.30 am – 12.45 pm
This is an introductory half-day session aimed at those who are new to customs or who would benefit from a refresher. We will introduce the three pillars of EU customs law – origin, tariff classification and customs valuation – with interactive case studies. Afterwards, with the current Brexit date only days away, we will also discuss the impact of Brexit on customs and how you can mitigate this. Click here for further information.

Introduction to EU, UK and US Export Controls and Trade Sanctions
12.45 pm – 5.45 pm
The afternoon session will provide those who are new to the area, or are in need of a refresher, with a firm grounding in respect of US, EU and UK export controls and trade sanctions compliance. Recent political and legal developments from a trade perspective will also be covered, as well as the new rules governing foreign investments in the UK and the impact of Brexit on sanctions and export controls Click here for further information.

Please note that an advanced session is scheduled for the end of September 2020 for those who already have an in-depth experience of customs; anti-bribery and corruption; product regulation; and export controls and trade sanctions.

Attendance at this event is free of charge. Please register as soon as possible as places are limited.
