Webinar: China’s Export Control Regulations

22nd January 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

China’s new and tougher export control laws entered into force in late 2020 and provides the country with sweeping powers to protect China’s national security.

Businesses worldwide, including in the UK, who import dual-use or military items from China need to pay attention, as delays at the export stage could impact supply chains. Chinese exporters may need to obtain a licence for their exports and, in some cases, so may the importer.

But how do you apply for a licence in China and when do you need to?

In the worst case, any company in conflict with Chinese export control legislation can potentially be added to an ‘undesired’ list, shutting off exports from China to them instantly.

To learn about compliance with the new laws and how supply chains could be affected, join us for a free webinar on 22 January 2021.

It will be delivered by Arne Mielken of the IOE&IT’s Export Control Profession Board and the managing director of Customs Manager Ltd.

The webinar will cover:

  • Introduction to the new Chinese Export Control Law
  • Export Business Operators (EBO)
  • Re-export, transit and transhipment
  • China’s own country list
  • Controlled items lists
  • Catch-all provisions
  • End-use / end-user controls and licensing
  • How UK businesses could be affected

The webinar will include a short Q&A and you can ask questions in advance when registering.

You can claim 1 CPD point for attending this webinar.
